BK published my book, "Pro-Voice," in 2015. Now I support the author community by reviewing draft manuscripts on a range of topics for authors and editors at BK, including: "I Respectfully Disagree: How to Have Difficult Conversations in a Divided World" by Justin Jones-Fosu (2024); "Work Made Fun Gets Done! Easy Ways to Boost Energy, Morale, and Results" by Bob Nelson and Mario Tamayo (2021) and “Inclusive Conversations: Fostering Equity, Empathy and Belonging Across Differences” by Mary-Frances Winters (2020), among others.

I was a resident in 2014 and began volunteering on fundraising efforts in 2018. I became Mesa's fundraising consultant in 2019, working closely with the Executive Director, staff, board and my fellow residents and alums on community-driven fundraising campaigns.

Launched and scaled Exhale from $1,000 in small donations from friends and family into a $1.2 million dollar organization, supported by America’s leading philanthropic organizations including Ford, Hewlett and Packard Foundations, as well as individual and major donors from across the country.Initiated and led innovative nationwide programs, including a multilingual after-abortion talkline, online community for people with abortion experiences and accessible training programs on patient care for abortion providers. Developed innovative and culture-changing practices for public storysharing of personal abortion experiences that changed the conversation about abortion across movements and public spaces. Built national media partnerships to facilitate broader public narrative on abortion experiences.Appeared in the media as a sought-after expert, including on CNN Headline News, Fox National News, TED Radio Hour, over 30 NPR affiliate stations nationwide, Associated Press, MSNBC.com, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, Ladies Home Journal, San Jose Mercury News, SFgate.com, and many more.

I chaired the Transparency Committee and worked to improve civic engagement practices.

I was a part of national network of 17 leaders who informed the 2006 Report: "More than a Choice: A Progressive Vision for Reproductive Health and Rights."

I led a team of domestic violence advocates that worked with California State Senator Sheila Kuehl to pass a law that gives survivors the right to have support people present during interviews with law enforcement and others. The bill received bipartisan support and was signed by Governor Schwarzenegger.

I was there when we opened the check from Susan Sarandon. I cold-called foundations who funded environmental causes to ask them if they funded nonviolent direct action. Answer: no.
