When I first began my professional career, I had no idea my role would evolve at such a rapid pace.After finishing my associate's degree, I was hired at Gulf Coast Surfaces as a Procurement Specialist. This was my first job, and I was completely terrified of venturing into a professional setting. This role helped me build relationships with local quartz and natural stone vendors in the Houston area. It taught me about sourcing the best materials for the end consumer.After two years, I transitioned into the accounting role I have today. As the company was experiencing massive growth, there needed to be a person to fill an accounting position full-time. My employer saw that I was capable, and I took the leap!Simultaneously, I am a working partner at Meta Surfaces, INC. We are a manufacturer and wholesale distributor of quartz slabs. We also have a retail outlet in Houston. With the many struggles and changes, I have grown (and still growing) into the well-rounded employee that I am today.
