I've been working in the Laboratory for Computational Intelligence, where I've started a project from scratch which aimed to design and implement a data-driven neural approach for generating captions for information visualization. Due to the lack of suitable corpora containing both charts and their descriptive captions, we collected a dataset through crowdsourcing. After that, we developed a encode-decoder RNN model architecture for genering InfoVis captions. This work led to the submission of a short paper to IUI-2020 Conference. This research period required me to work with Python (Keras libraries) for implementing the deep neural model, but also with the MERN Stack for designing and implementing the Web App which have been used for the crowdsourcing process.

I've been working on an assignment given by SINTEF Nord AS to the Department of Computer Science at the University of Tromso. The assignment was on data science for aquaculture and fisheries, with a special focus on analysis and prediction services in the Norwegian domain. I've been consulting with other data science people in SINTEF, presenting and discussing my results during the assignment period. I've been implementing most of the data collection and visualization scripts using Python.
