Initially service was provided for the local population; subsequently has undergone successful… Show more I was appointed to my current consultant position, August 2002, at an exciting time in Brighton, with opportunity to contribute to the development of a new medical school and ‘state of the art’ Children’s hospital, both successfully established in 2003 and 2007 respectively.I introduced and developed a new subspecialist service in Pediatric Gastroenterology-Nutrition in Brighton. Initially service was provided for the local population; subsequently has undergone successful transformation to become a regional provider (1.2 Million population base) of tertiary level care and expertise of the highest quality, recognized nationally. I lead both the local and regional service which forms part of a collaborative clinical network with other regional partners, with Brighton as the lead center. I undertake a number of leadership roles and responsibilities, locally, regionally and nationally including representations in Paediatric Gastroenterology subspeciality society and National Centre for Clinical Excellence.I maintain a keen interest and active participation in under- and post- graduate education, training and academic endeavors including researchIn addition to my NHS work, I have an established private practice operating mainly from within the Children’s hospital in Brighton and other local private care providers.
