Agent Of Listening And Documentation

Damj The Tunisian Association For Justice And Equality

Tunisia

In my role as an Assistant PAD Flouka, I played a pivotal role in facilitating a safe space for LGBTQI+ and PVVIH survivors of violence and discrimination to access crucial assistance services. Working within the framework of Anti-Discrimination Points (PADs) established across Tunisian governorates, I expertly conducted attentive and empathetic listening sessions, ensuring survivors' stories were heard and documented with sensitivity and securely safeguarded. My responsibilities extended to meticulously capturing cases of discrimination and institutional violations based on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, sex characteristics, and serological status.Beyond documentation, I carried out comprehensive analyses of the accumulated reports, discerning patterns and profiling victim experiences. By understanding the context and nuances of each case, I was able to provide personalized orientations for survivors. This involved navigating an intricate landscape of civil society resources and public institutions like judicial assistance and healthcare facilities. I was committed to ensuring each survivor was directed to the most suitable services to address their unique needs. My dedication didn't stop at orientation. I diligently followed up with beneficiaries, assessing the effectiveness of the services they received. Drawing from this experience, I crafted impactful recommendations aimed at enhancing the quality of services provided by civil society organizations and public institutions. This aspect of my role was rooted in a drive for continuous improvement and a genuine concern for the well-being of survivors.Furthermore, I meticulously gathered data and indicators, leveraging analysis to develop persuasive advocacy materials. By turning data into a compelling narrative, I contributed to raising awareness, shaping public opinion, and influencing policies aimed at combatting discrimination and promoting inclusivity.
