I was very fortunate to be a part of and to be teaching this unique subject which not only places academic study in a practical, real-world context but the fact that two years ago, ACS Jakarta was among one the very few schools in South East Asia to adopt the subject into its curriculum. My role as a Global Perspectives teacher challenged me to use a range of active learning approaches rather than those who lecture information and expect students to regurgitate.My responsibility was to support and guide the learners as they research, evaluate and work together. I gave them feedback on where they were doing well and what they needed to do next to further develop the skill. I facilitated learning, thus I restrained myself from telling my students how to do it. However, by no mean did this meant less work for the teacher. The planning part of the programme would take some time at first. The subject allowed flexibility for the teacher to design and execute the lesson as they wish within the parameter of the topic. In Global Perspectives, teachers like myself guide and support learners to develop transferable skills more so than their ability to recall information.

I have been an English Support Programme teacher under the English Department for Primary Level (Grades 1-6 respectively). As an English Support teacher, I support all students during English lessons by working with them in a group situation, or on one-to-one basis to facilitate learning. I work together with my teaching partner (Mainstream English teacher) to plan and prepare resources for lessons and supervise students during class activities. As an English Support Programme teacher, it is my special responsibility to identify students who need extra learning support and carry out after-school English Support Tutorial weekly. Other specific activities also include the following but not limited to:* perform an encouraging role to reinforce instructions and facilitate learning* cooperate with and, where appropriate, advise the Head of English, Vice-Principal, School Counselor or Homeroom Teacher, in the review, preparation and development of learning support of students within the school* communicate to parents by sharing information about English Support Programme, share learning gaps or progress of students in the Programme* meet the needs of students in the English Support Programme by differentiating worksheets and instructions, as advised by the English Teacher or Head of Englilsh* keep appropriated and efficient records of formative and summative assessments * prepare educational teaching and learning aids or displays for the classroom and the bulletin boards

Just as any other subject teacher, as a Social studies teacher, I planned lessons, assigned and graded students' work, and created and lead classroom activities. Content-wise, teaching this subject, I was required to be highly knowledgeable about social sciences, teaching students the concepts of government, geography, history, economics, civic ideals, and current events. Ocassionally, teaching Social Studies pushed me to be able to teach students how to express ideas precisely in writing. Skill-wise, teaching social studies gave me a chance to influence how children see themselves and behave toward one another. I was challenged to connect classroom material to current events to help students better understand how the content of the course plays a role in everyday life.I had to exemplify the love of reading, being analytical and curious, interested in understanding larger systems and patterns, be comfortable with complex subject matter, being sociable and easy to talk to.Being patient and resourceful, good at motivating and inspiring students, organized and careful about time management, devoted to learning, being service-oriented are demanded on a daily basis as well.

The Moe's Crew Member is responsible for providing excellent customer service to any and every restaurant guest. While working as one of the restaurant's Crew Member, I was responsible for:interacting with guests pleasantly and maintaining an up-beat demeanor, greeting customers when they walk in to the restaurant with enthusiasm and positive energy, being punctual, attentive to detail, hardworking, willing to learn, reliable, and, above all, honest. I was also responsible for creating a fun and friendly atmosphere that promotes team work while maintaining a neat and clean appearance, following food safety procedures and keeping a safe working condition. Anticipate and identify problems and help find solutions as well as follow the direction of the Shift Supervisor and/or restaurant's manager were as important.

It is a global maker‑to‑market The store is a way for customers to shop with intention for ethically-sourced wares — and to share in the joy of empowering the artisans that make them.As one of the pioneers of fair trade, TTV does business differently with people and planet in mind. Every handmade purchase and donation directly impacts the life and community of its maker in a developing country.As a store clerk at TTV, I performed a variety of duties, all aimed at ensuring that the store is well-run and that customers have pleasurable shopping experience. I was responsible for selling products and providing customer service to consumers on the floor. I greeted customers and guided them in finding products they wanted to buy. Besides sales and customer care duties, I maintained the outlook of a store by cleaning and restocking shelves. Regarding stocks, in multiple occasions, I would check newly arrived stocks against packing slips or invoices determining if there are shortages, damages, missing goods, etc. After checking, stocks are placed in designated storage areas. I assisted in counting and recording inventory and performed other related duties as assigned.

The Raleigh Summer Youth Employment Program helps teens between the ages of 15 and 18 to develop their skills and prepare for future employment by spending the summer working for the City of Raleigh. As a camp counselor, I work together with my supervisor and other counselors in creating a module of targeted soft skills and implement through fun training and activities for campers (children and young adults). I also interacted with the campers and engaged them in games, arts and crafts, and other indoors and outdoors camp activities.
