Teach graduate level classes in the department of economics: microeconomics and market design.

Research on microeconomic issues at the CBO, particularly those that relate to market design and auctions. Projects have included analysis and/or scoring of:* Spectrum auctions* Energy markets* State and Federal oil and gas leasing* Foreign tax repatriation* Cap-and-trade program design (including a critical look at the price controls proposed under various Congressional bills)* Medicare Part D (prescription drug) auctions and industry response* Medicare Part A/B markets and proposals to reduce government expenditures.* Rules relating to speculators and derivatives

While a graduate student in economics, continued to provide consulting support to the Business Development team in the form of new product development and pricing analysis. Managed several clients until they could be transferred to full-time business development professionals; closed several million dollars in sales. Solved complicated contract development and contract negotiation issues for the team when they arose.

Oversaw the revenue growth of the company from a small tech firm to a mid-sized, financially sustainable and organically-funded firm. Responsibilities were wide ranging, but focused primarily on generating revenue through sales and business development, growing existing revenue model, and developing new revenue-generating products. In addition:* Developed and managed large share of advertising inventory on the website (millions of impressions per day). * Managed a team of 8 business development and sales implementation professionals. * Designed new features and tools that could be used to generate revenue.* Consulted with nonprofit organizations to design fundraising, advocacy, and outreach strategies that would be successful on the website. * Helped grow website from an audience of 2 million to over 6 million. * Represented firm at industry conferences.

Developed revenue model for small Silicon Valley start-up and closed many contracts allowing start-up to weather tech downturn. Managed the development of new online features and tools that could be used to generate revenue. Designed and coded new advertising inventory to enable sales support team to easily implement new contracts.

Conducted a range of quantitative and qualitative public opinion analyses for political candidates

As an environmental engineer: * Cultivated several small contracts into multi-million dollar, highly profitable relationships.* Developed expertise in remediation and water treatment technology evaluations, risk assessments, standard-setting procedures, and modeling of contaminants movement throughout the environment* Performed benefit cost analyses on the use of MTBE in California and treatment of public drinking water sources as a result of contamination by a variety of chemicalsDeveloped probabilistic risk analysis model using Monte Carlo simulations to determine expected costs associated with remediation and treatment scenarios for contaminated sites* Delivered over 60 presentations at conferences and workshops including expert testimony before EPA* Taught state and federal classes to regulators, consultants, and utility professionals in remediation and treatment strategies
