With 25+ years of experience in the professional beauty industry and a series of successful entrepreneurial endeavors, Aston has earned a reputation by creating and growing brands that stand out. At a young age, he created Colour Off, an innovative hair color stain remover, that was distributed by Beauty Systems Group and Sally Beauty, among others, and subsequently acquired by American International Industries.Following the sale, Aston started the very first North American distributor of Lakme Cosmetics, which was later acquired as well. During his journey, Aston has supported many brands including Alfaparf, Babe, Enjoy, Number 4 and Surface. Aston then co-founded the Texan distributor Credible Culture, where he co-designed an educational system called Beast Mode Hair Lab and distributed luxury goods such as Garrett Markenson’s Reverie and VERB to top salons in the region. As a result of his professional experiences, he noticed arising consumer interest in the premium men’s grooming category. Excited about this emerging category, he co-developed a training program to grow men's services and retail dollars for his customers.Unable to find a men's retail brand strong enough to offer service providers with premium and professional grade products that men would take pride in owning, 18.21 was conceptualized. Inspired by Prohibition-era bootleggers, the 18.21 namesake pays homage to the amendments that bookended the period. Today, 18.21 is a one-of-a-kind brand that offers nearly 40 products to leading distributors, salons, barber chains and retailers globally.
