My name is Astrid Venlet, a passionate interior designer based in Brussels.After completing my studies as an interior designer in Gent, Belgium and specialized in furniture design and temporary installations at the School of Arts, KASK. I moved to Berlin to work for Studio Aisslinger.As an interior designer, I have created concepts for student housing, hotels, restaurants,.. and more recently, started researching the use of ecological and sustainable bio materials in design. My work is characterized by a mix of conceptual, emotional and playful design, combined within a language of simplicity and minimalism. My projects can be in motion, react on our emotions or respond on developments in our society. I search for new meaning and principles in objects, for unexplored connections between materials, production methods, makers and users. Every project is a research, resulting in interior and public space appliances and designs.Additionally, my passions consist of traveling, adventure and nature. This entire package results into a character who strives to explore and discover things both personally and professionally.
