The Education Outreach Project is tasked with delivering assemblies to every secondary school in Cornwall to raise awareness of software careers within Cornwall. Children are to be given greater opportunity to have some experience of computer programming through Code Clubs and Tech Jams. And those with a keen interest are to be given opportunities to.

Perranporth CP School

Started a Code Club with one of the teachers from the school just before it became a really big thing. The school has excellent IT facilities and coding was already part of their curriculum but we thought we could take it further with those who showed promise. It's been great fun and voted The Coolest Club in the school by the pupils.

I work in the evenings in place of the management in a busy seaside supermarket. In winter there will be three other staff on duty but in the summer months this rises to eight. I'm responsible for ensuring that the store is ready for the next days business and is locked secure for the night.

Bromley

Tutor for Astronomy for Beginners, and Astronomy Beyond the Basics. Also an e-Guide for other tutors encouraging them to use electronic media and devices in teaching. Also studied for a City & Guilds in Teaching and an NVQ in IT as part my my own professional development.

Dorset Street, London

Manager and Director of a store specialising in different photographic equipment and astronomical telescopes. Sourced new products and ideas, dealt with sales and constructed their first web site in 1994. I was instrumental in their adoption of astronomical equipment as a sales item and now they are one of the UK's largest astronomical supplier.

Cross Channel Ferries

Photographic Technician, photographer and trainer for a company offering photo film processing on board cross channel ferries. Initially based on a Brittany Ferries ship sailing from Plymouth I was finally working as the technician keeping all the machines operating and the staff up to date on their training on 8 ships with about 45 staff.

London And Surrey

Worked as a floating Manager between various photo mini labs based in Sloane Street, Oxford Street, London and Guildford and Woking. Kept the labs operating efficiently and the staff trained.

Mediterranean & Baltic

The job entailed photographing the passengers on holiday and producing the prints on board in a darkroom. All processing was done by hand before the days of digital imaging.

Guildford & Woking

Worked in two One Hour Photolabs, the first was only the 6th in the UK at the time. Very exciting time as getting your pictures processed in only an hour was still a very new thing. The queues in the summer months were amazing. Became Manager of the new Woking branch after just over a year of joining from school. State of the art lab at the time and used.

Currently on Level 3 of a BSc in Natural Sciences degree studying Oceanography. Gained a Certificate in Natural Sciences (Open) in 2009.
