Undergraduate Researcher
CurrentPI: Dr. R. I. Sujith, D. Srinivasan Chair Professor, Dept. of Aerospace Engineering, IIT Madras. At CTCS, we focus on researching and predicting critical transitions in engineering (thermoacoustic systems) and natural systems using complex systems theory. The center strives to reduce the impact of these critical transitions by developing early warning.
Research Visit
Propeller Design And Optimization For Urban Air Mobility
Did literature surveys on the future aspects of Regional Air Mobility (RAM). Explored various features that can be optimized for an electric vehicle. Interpreted the fundamental aerodynamics of a propeller and examined the different types of propeller systems that can be used for RAM. Using XFOIL/XFLR5 with MATLAB/Python, we parameterized a propeller.
Coordinator Of Aero Club (Cfi) | Iit Madras
One of the seven coordinators of the club, responsible for conducting sessions on Aerodynamics, Aerial Robotics. Conducted CFI summer school session for 80+ enthusiastic students on XFLR5 Airfoil analysis.
Project Member Of Aero Club (Cfi) | Iit Madras
Was part of a team of 8 members; worked to create a swarm of drones to explore unknown territory and locate a particular marker. The swarm creates a depth map of the territory using an Intel RealSense depth camera. We integrated a path exploration module called F.U.E.L (Fast UAV Exploration) with ROS and simulated various environments in Gazebo.
Research Internship
Worked under the guidance of Dr. K Jayaram. Carried out literature survey on various drone applications and explored the future potential and applications of this growing industry. Theorized the use of UAVs for Search and Rescue (S&R) missions. Suggested the use of open-source object detection algorithms such as YOLO and integrate them with the onboard.
