Head of KYC Operation Kuala Lumpur Hub and In-Country Hubs (Taiwan, Japan, Korea and Indonesia). Role encompasses the day to day operations of KYC/Client Onboarding support across 9 markets in Asia and representing Asia region in various transformational global initiatives. Introduced various process improvements to gain tangible efficiencies. Lead and passed various internal and external audit and regulatory reviews. Also remediated various regulatory remediation tasks recommended by OCC and Country Regulators. Also participated and lead Asia team in major technology transformation journey in AML & KYC areas, including evaluating various FinTech partners and their solutions.Mentored, coached and groomed a team of approximately 200 professionals (10 nationalities) from hiring, training and upskilled them in KYC domain. Spending 10 years in various areas in the banking industry from Technology, Capital Market to Consumer Banking, transitioned into the Compliance area taking a line operation role of leading 80+ professionals which grew up to 150+ within 1 year. Challenging role with people problems, process gaps, low morale and trust deficit amongst team members resulted into high attrition and low employee satisfaction!Learnt the process, gained the domain knowledge, applied the knowledge at work. Introduced transparent KPIs for the team to bring the best out of them by creating healthy competitive environment based on merit. Addressed people concerns by providing conducive environment for team to work and grow. Created value for the team to gain their trust.Within 2 years team transformed into High Performing team bagging Best team award 4 Quarters in a row. Met and exceeded SLA for 12 straight months (only team in the KL Hub to achieve this). Passed the audit with zero findings. Implemented 10 new AML typologies for Citi India working with Indian Bankers Association (IBF).Acted as a 'Change Agent' in transforming the team which reflected in 89% employee satisfaction survey (up from 54%).

Part of entrepreneurial team which launched Credit Card and Insurance Business for Citi Vietnam. Started the work from scratch right from the planning, hiring and training new team. Engaging with industry partners and agencies for collaboration. Learnt how to set up new business from seasoned bankers who are achievers in their domain be it Product, Sales, Marketing, Legal & Compliance or Real Estate and Infrastructure. Faced multiple challenges during the journey, but thrilled to launch 3 Credit Card with 2 leading associations (V &MC) and set up Insurance operations from scratch within 15 months. Well recognised for the contributions to Citi Vietnam.

Took a challenging task to lead the integration of 9th largest local bank(Bank of Overseas Chinese) acquired by Citi Taiwan within stringent timeline of 10months. Lead the entire integration of Corporate and Commercial Banking portfolio with Citi. Branch network grew from 3 to 55 with multi-fold client base. Worked with Product and Operation to develop and set up new products for portfolio transfer.Demonstrated ability to effectively work with cross-functional and cross cultural teams.

Started career with i-Flex Solutions (now Oracle Financial Software Solution) as Core Banking Product developer. Within 5 years grew with the organisation as Product Specialist and Implementation expert for flagship core banking product - Flexcube. Spear headed Flexcube implementation in Citibank India, Srilanka and Bangladesh. Designed and developed multiple modules in Flexcube. Won multiple awards and accolades.
