Responsibilities included production planning, manpower management, materials management, process control, quality control, product inspection, and data collection & reporting on a daily basis.Accomplishments: Efficiently managed a team of 20 personnel in Foundry and 55 personnel in Furnace to achieve 20% improvement in the average monthly manufacturing capacity (to 500 Tons) of refractory blocks. Established good standards of operational excellence by implementing 5S, Kaizen, Lean, and World Class Manufacturing systems and procedures in the shop-floor. Established excellent standards of workplace safety by conducting Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA) evaluations, and Senior Management Audit Tool (SMAT) audits. Implemented 100% usage of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and other safety practices in shop-floor for keeping the EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) safety indicators within target. Improved and optimized the existing methods of data entry resulting in a time-saving of approximately 30 minutes per day for the area supervisors. Re-structured operations and cross-trained personnel to improve shop-floor flexibility resulting in savings of 6 FTEs (Full-time Employees). Awarded (Kaizen of the month, May 2014) for suggesting and implementing the re-use of a raw material (White Aluminum Oxide) resulting in savings of Rs. 55000 per month. Successfully completed certificate training in Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (UL-DQS, Chennai, April 2015).
