The purpose of this position to accurately prepare samples for analysis via liquid-liquid extraction techniques as directed in the SOP and ensure quality control requirements are met. Load and unload samples on ELISA, ALD, LC/MS/MS, volatiles headspaces, and centrifuges while verifying proper COC, batch documentation, and analysis methods are completed. Monitor and review chromatography and sample acceptance criteria after performing maintenance and troubleshooting instruments to ensure the quality of sample analysis. Utilize software and technology (Horizon, Analyst, ChemStation, MultiQuant) to effectively review and input data for certification to be sent to clients. Communicate with team members the status of instruments and samples by updating the backlog and logging instrument maintenance and issues.

The duties of this role is to accession specimens from surgery into the hospital's system, print specimen cassettes depending on the surgery and size of specimen. Prepare the specimen in formaldehyde and dying ink, if necessary, before review by the Pathologist Assistants. Assist the Pathologist with freezing specimens to create razor thin slices of tissue with a Cryostat to examine for immediate response to surgeons. Filing specimen slides in filing cabinets to be able to effectively retrieve slides for further review of a patient or unique cases.
