CurrentI am a Distinguished Scholar in Residence at Loyola University Chicago where I teach courses in Cyberlaw, Introduction to Intellectual Property Law, Patent Law, and Patent Prosecution Seminar. Cyberlaw discusses the recent history of the law with regard to the Internet that includes issues with respect to the First Amendment, Intermediary Liability, Intellectual Property, and Privacy. Introduction to Intellectual Property Law is a survey course that discusses issues in Trade Secrets, Patent, Copyright, Trademark, and Right to Publicity. Patent Law teaches students to draft patent claims and applications as well as response to office actions. Further, students render legal opinions as well as draft brief and conduct oral arguments on various issues including patent infringement and patent invalidity. Patent Prosecution Seminar allows students to draft patent claims and patent applications as well as conduct Patent Examiner Interviews, reexaminations and draft mock briefs/oral arguments in front of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. I have crafted all the courses to include group projects that simulate law firm practice so that may students can prepare themselves for their professional life after graduation.
