As Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Coordinator, I measured the impact of INASP's activities and capture the lessons learnt during the process.

I was responsible for formulating, implementing and updating the M&E plan and activities for the SERVIR-Mekong Program at ADPC.The SERVIR-Mekong program, developed through a unique partnership between USAID and NASA, harnesses space technology and open data to help address development challenges related to a changing climate in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar (Burma), Thailand and Vietnam. https://servir.adpc.net/Other parts of my role also included the management of SERVIR-Mekong's grants program as well as support strategic planning and management within the GIS-Department.

As one of the programme coordinators in the Safer Development Planning and Implementation Department in ADPC, the focus of my work is to mainstream disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate change adaptation (CCA) into the development in countries across Asia. This includes working with national level governments to ensure disaster and climate change considerations are included in national policies, plans, budgets and initiatives. ADPC's approach to mainstreaming also includes working at the sub-national level, working from the district level all the way down to the local level. ADPC's approach is to build capacity of government staff and then create the enabling environment for government staff to mainstream DRR into their own development. I am currently carrying our Mainstreaming Needs Assessments in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, and Sri Lanka. I was also part of a team which led a mainstreaming workshop in the Maldives as well as involved in creating mainstreaming frameworks in Timor Leste and Kazakhstan.

Bangladesh

Worked in Bogra, Bangladesh in the Innovation, Monitoring, Learning and Communications unit in the Chars Livelihood Programme. This is a DFID and AusAid funded programme reducing extreme poverty in NW Bangladesh. It works to lift 78,000 households out of extreme poverty by 2016. While working for CLP, I led a research teams studying the impact of the programme on the disaster resilience of communities, findings of which were fed back into the operations of CLP. For the study, I prepared the research proposal, a detailed budget plan, co-led trainings for our data collectors, as well as analysed the data and wrote up the final report. Throughout my work for the CLP, there was a constant interaction withparticipants including interviews with household members as well as working directly with local leaders.

My role was to coordinate support for accreditation for renewable energy funding with a focus in developing countries. Consultation included experience in building government policy and regulation, working with ethical companies and working with INGOS. A major aspects of the work included preparing applications for companies applying for carbon credits through the United Nations Clean Development Mechanism and the Gold Standard Foundation.

I acted firstly as the tutor for the child of the owner. The boy, Evan, having turned eleven was preparing for returning to the United Kingdom and needed to prepare for the entrance exams for secondary school. This meant covering a number of different subjects including Maths, English and Science at Key Stage three. Other topics covered included the more unusual subjects such as Photography, Nature and French which required a more innovative approach. Secondly I acted as an assistant for the manager of the lodge. This covered a variety of jobs including taking clients out on safari, updating the website and general upkeep of the grounds. While working here I was privy to the process of Land Claims for agricultural land which had the risk of degenerating to a similar situation to Zimbabwe as the land which the land was on was being claimed. I was part of the discussions between the multiple stakeholders which were able to resolve this particular conflict.
