As a Principal Software Engineer, I played a major role in the development and planning of software solutions for brushless electric motors used in EVTOL (Electric Vertical Take-off and Landing) aircraft, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as DO-178C and AS9100. In addition to managing software aspects, I contributed significantly to documenting the motor’s overall design. Working closely with lead engineers, I helped coordinate project planning, define system requirements, and establish validation and testing strategies, authoring key software planning documents aligned with DO-178C guidelines for DAL-A (Design Assurance Level) software.A key aspect of my role involved developing user-friendly desktop applications written in C# and XAML using .NET Core and WPF for system validation, research, and development. These applications simulated flight computer behavior, enabling seamless communication between a Windows desktop, multiple motors, and various sensors in a dyno test bench setup. I researched, sourced, and integrated diverse technologies into custom test bench setups tailored for various customers, ensuring reliability and correctness of behavior, particularly in high EMI environments. The applications were deployed throughout different development phases to validate motor performance and functionality, ensuring each motor passed all required tests before delivery. Additionally, these tools automated testing procedures and generated detailed test reports for customers.I collaborated closely with colleagues and customers to develop high-level communication protocols for CAN and RS-485 networks. This role demanded strong technical problem-solving skills and strict adherence to regulatory standards, resulting in reliable, high-quality solutions for commercial-grade EVTOL aircraft.
