Dr Athanasios Karamitros, MD, MSc (Applied Biomechanics & Biomaterials in Orthopaedics), Colonel HAF, is an Orthopaedic Surgeon, with over 15 years of experience as a Consultant, focusing on Adult Reconstructive Surgery (Hip and Knee Joint Replacements), robotic-assisted arthroplasty, minimal invasive surgery, knee arthroscopy, trauma & osteoporosis. He is the deputy Chief at 1st Department of Orthopaedics at the renown 251 Hellenic Air Force General Hospital, while practicing privately at Henry Dunant Hospital in Athens, Greece.He graduated the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Medical School and the Hellenic Academy of Combat Support Officers (1996). He completed his Orthopaedic Residency program in the 1st Dept of Orthopaedics, University of Athens, Attikon Hospital (2007), and Fellowship training in Bone Metabolic Disease and Adult Reconstructive Surgery in Hospital for Special Surgery, New York, USA (2012). In 2009 he served as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon for ISAF/NATO in Kunduz, Afghanistan. He obtained his MSc degree in Applied Biomechanics & Biomaterials in Orthopaedics from University of Athens & NTUA in 2022.
