Working (part-time) at the University library revolves around communicating with students, their queries about reading material or other IT needs and resolving them. It also involves helping maintain a certain decorum in the library grounds. The role helps me improve my problem-solving as well as communication skills with the aim of being customer(/client) centric. The role also has me familiarised with the Dewey- decimal system.

The job responsibilities and duties involved reaching out to sellers and verifying their information to onboard on the e-commerce platform. It also involved on call problem solving and IT resolutions. During the short period, I was also awarded with the “Weekly Best Player” award given to employees based on various factors such as punctuality, ability to resolve issues, communication skills and maintaining record of calls.

Being a Teaching Assistant involved assisting professors in conducting laboratory sessions as well as lectures and doubt solving sessions for undergraduate students in the electrical engineering department. It was also required to guide the students in their final year projects. Other responsibilities included conducting tutorials for certain subjects, setting up (and sometimes troubleshooting) the IT equipment required by the professors to conduct classes, and helping conduct laboratory sessions involving machinery and/or computer software.
