My job was to fine-tune the calciner PID control system and ensure higher efficiency. Along with Traditional methods, I was able to write a Ridge Regression model that established a controlrelationship between the covariates and the target which is the temperature. The covariates used were kiln loading,calciner draft, litter weight coal firing, and set point. Using this model, the effect of changing 1 unit of these parameterscan now be estimated on the temperature. Hence, I was able to create a more dynamic and inclusive controlrelationship that relies not just on PID parameters but on the covariates as well.
