Certified Fundementals Cook
CurrentAs a culinary apprentice, I am working to complete 400 hours at Taste Community Restaurant preparing breakfast, lunch, and brunch for up to 200 guests each day, as well as 90 hours of American Culinary Federation Certified instruction. I work in various positions, in food preparation, salad station, at the grill, and on saute, learning the unique skills of each station. Through hands-on work in the restaurant and my coursework, I have learned knife skills, safety and sanitation, kitchen inventory and food management, recipe development, menu development, food costing, working with dietary restrictions, nutrition, event preparation, and so forth. As a culmination of my food service skills, I planned and developed a recipe, and executed preperation, plating, and serving my dish for 50 guests at my showcase dinner.
