Homecare provides me with a well rounded nursing expertise, since we see all types of patients and provide all types of care. I get the most satisfaction helping a patient navigate a system that can be confusing and daunting in order for them to get what they need, be it a way to have a conversation with a provider, understanding their rights, fighting for changes in plan of care, or setting them up with the proper resources to live healthy and happy lives. My patients come first, and I am a loud voice that stands up for them at their most vulnerable times of need. I would like very much to move towards patient advocacy in a remote setting.
