We're a small team, so I'm wherever we need me to be. I'm responsible for developing new features, tracking down and fixing bugs wherever they turned up, expanding features if necessary, trimming down feature bloat also often necessary. I'm in charge of the overall redesign and modernization efforts for both frontend and backend. I also work with our community of volunteers to keep them happy. I have:• Revamped the most heavily trafficked pages with responsive designs, focusing on accessibility and usability.• Converted the site from proprietary JS libraries to use modern best practices (including jQuery).• Updated the theme library to reflow automatically on mobile devices. • Designed and implemented a reply­-by­-email feature which has increased user engagement and reduced site load.• Initiated and led project to modernize the site design using Foundation.• Created tools to help with contributor workflow, including a style guide for design work.• Explored and implemented optimization techniques for site delivery, including minification of JS and CSS files.• Coordinated the work of dozens of volunteers of various skill levels, from helping new programmers get started to guiding veterans.
