About Andrew Thomits

I have been working in public health since 1996 in non-profit agencies, state government, and the private sector. My primary focus has been on HIV/AIDS, STD, and viral hepatitis prevention education, program development, and counseling and testing. At the Eastern Maine AIDS Network, I implemented one of the first HIV rapid testing program and the second syringe exchange program in the state. After moving to New Hampshire, I worked at the State of New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, where I helped to change regulations and policies that prohibited HIV rapid testing and worked with 30+ state-funded agencies to implement HIV rapid testing into their services.My current role at OraSure Technologies, Inc. allows me to help increase access to testing and treatment for infectious diseases. I manage accounts in New England and New York, working closely with customers to implement and enhance HIV, Hepatitis-C, Syphilis, and COVID-19 rapid testing programs across the region.The opinions posted here are my own and may not reflect the opinions of OraSure Technologies, Inc., their subsidies, or employees.
