Development of optimum treatment for industrial wastewater coming from carton box industry. This purpose of the treatment in our case is to treat the wastewater coming out of a carton box manufacturing industry which has high colour and has high BOD and COD values.An attempt has been made to treat this wastewater using bleaching powder to remove the colour and to use a chemical coagulant to remove suspended particles. The objective is also to treat the wastewater in a possibly economic way and we have achieved it to some extent by removing the colour using bleaching powder.

Improvised Manufacture of Building Blocks Through Partial Replacement Of Fine Aggregate With Copper Slag. This work deals with the utilisation of copper slag which is an industrial waste product, as a partial replacement of fine aggregate in the manufacturing of cement bricks. Fine aggregate is replaced with varying percentage of copper slag and that percentage which impart the maximum compressive strength when compared to control mix were determined. The test conducted revealed that, 40% replacement of copper slag could be optimal without sacrificing the compressive strength. Bricks manufactured with copper slag as a replacement to fine aggregate, passed all the standard tests on bricks.
