This work involves a novel application of subdivision surfaces in the modeling, analysis, and numerical optimization of imprint roll features such that precise microfluidic device features are created.- Subdivision Surfaces for High Speed Milling: Developed computational tools to visualize the effect of toolpath design on the surface finish of free-form surfaces. Applied subdivision surfaces in the design and optimization of machining toolpaths, and in generating the trajectories for commanding toolpaths in high-speed machining.- Automated Drill Design for FEA: Developed automated twist-drill modeler to create accurate solid models of twist drills by using boolean operations to mimic the drill manufacturing process. This tool is currently being used in several universities for research and instructionTeaching Experience:- Instructor/Lecturer for ME 220, Graduate course in Precision Manufacturing at UC Berkeley.- Graduate Student Instructor for ME 101, Undergraduate course in High Mix - Low Volume Manufacturing at UC Berkeley.
