Participated in an R&D effort to create a fully automated “lights out” Postal facility. The project involved the development of a mail-sorting machine that was fully operational without any human intervention. The concept was to extend the capabilities of existing mail-sorting equipment by adding automation to provide input (unsorted mail) to the machine and remove the output (sorted mail) from the machines.Worked with the Brazilian Postal agency (CORREIOS) in transforming their mail sorting and delivery operations. Customized a number of automated machines produced by Siemens to conform to the Brazilian Post requirements. Worked with teams of Brazilian Engineers and Managers in gathering requirements, developing products and successfully completing on-site (in São Paulo & Brasilia) implementation testing of the automated equipment.Responsibilities Included…• Participation in the complete Software/Product Development Life Cycle including requirements & design analysis, software implementation, system testing, and field support.• Adherence to ISO 9001 certified processes.• Interfacing with domestic and international clients, working with local and remote teams of engineers and managers.• Producing support documentation for satisfying the client’s needs.
