Atilla Evcin was born in Kilis in 1967. He completed his primary education in Gaziantep and his secondary and high school education in Bolvadin. In 1989, he graduated from Eskişehir Anadolu University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Chemical Engineering. Then he worked as a laboratory chief at SİSTAŞ Siirt Liquorice Factory in Siirt. He completed his military service as a reserve officer in Şırnak and Mardin. He worked as a manufacturing and laboratory engineer at Kavala Canned Food Factory in Sultandağı, Afyon. Then he worked as a manufacturing engineer at Bilecik SİTE Artificial Leather Leather Factory. In 1994, he started to work as an expert at Afyon Kocatepe University, Faculty of Technical Education. He was appointed as a lecturer. In 1996, he completed his master's degree at A.K.Ü. Institute of Science and Technology. In 1997, he was appointed as a lecturer at Uşak Faculty of Engineering. In 2003, he completed his PhD at Sakarya University Institute of Science and Technology and was appointed as an Assistant Professor at Afyon Engineering Faculty, Department of Ceramic Engineering. In 2014, he received the title of Associate Professor and his staff. In 2020, he was appointed as a Professor. He was the head of the Department of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. He is currently the Head of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and the Coordinator of AKU Technology Transfer Office (TTO).He has research, national and international publications and projects on ceramics, polymers, composites, coating techniques, powder production techniques, biomaterials, nanomaterials, zeolite and polymer membranes, sol-gel processes and porous materials under Materials Science.He is the founder and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Characterisation.
