GE GMS (Global Mobility Systems) operates from Fairfield, Connecticut. GE GMS provides services to all GE Businesses to handle the overseas assignments, payroll and benefits related aspects of employees that are travelling onsite. When a GE Employee embarks on an Overseas Assignment, the employee becomes a part of GE’s International payroll and the expat’s Business is charged for all the expenses and services provided for that expatriate by GE Corporate. Initially, GE Corporate creates Illustrations to do a what-if Analysis to arrive at an approximate estimate of expenses a business may incur on that Expat. Based on the Illustration the Business will decide to send a person on Overseas Assignment. All the required legal documents will be prepared and the employee will then added to GE International’s database and activated.Some of the services provided by GE GMS are - 1. GME/Business Self ServiceAn array of batch jobs and web applications managed by IGATE allow multiple vendors, operations teams, IT and financial users’ process data for managing the payroll for expats. The Project is sub divided into multiple modules to handle specific set of applications or processes. Expatriate Information Resource Systems (EIRS), Short Term Business Travelers (STBT), Metrics and Celergo.Also I am dealing with Functional/ Business users of GE as well as with other vendors of GE (GENPACT, KPMG and Softtek etc) to ensure that all process are working fine. Also taking feedback with them and trying to make the process in automated way so no manual intervention will be required in future. which will save a lot of time of Functional/ Business users and will also help to avoids any errors or defects that might introduced due to manual update.Also preparing business case and UTC for new application.
