Director, General Audience (Primetime) Publicity
Current*Direct PBS General Audience publicity campaigns for primetime priority programs, PBS digital initiatives and PBS Education with oversight of communication strategies, publicity materials and agency staff resources. *Engage thought leaders and key strategic partners both inside and outside the organization to develop campaigns and narratives that help tell the “PBS story,” raise PBS’ institutional profile and position the company as a forward-thinking media organization. Work closely with colleagues in PBS programming, marketing, education, social and digital, as well as with program producers and partner agencies to develop and execute multi-faceted campaigns to support audience engagement and drive tune-in. *Develop and edit press materials for direct to PBS programming, including but not limited to, PR plans, press releases, talking points, backgrounders and executive biographies.*Oversee the management of speaking opportunities for PBS senior executives to position them as thought-leaders in the media industry. Develop speeches, remarks and presentations for major conferences and events as needed.*Direct all aspects of publicity and promotion for the Webby-Award nominated PBS Online Film Festival, which has amassed more than six million views over the past five years and PBS Digital Studios, PBS’ YouTube channel which includes more than 60 web-original series in its growing portfolio of shows. The PBS Digital Studios network currently has more than 11.5 million subscribers and has generated more than one billion views to date. Shows included in the network are the recipient of multiple Webbys, Tellys and Mashies. *Collaborate with team members to build and implement PBS’ presence at key industry events including the bi-annual Television Critics Association Press Tour, RealScreen, VidCon and other events including screenings, premiere events and panels.
