Caretaking is my superpower. I adopt only the "unadoptable" pets. I have a shy dog, a senior dog, an FIV-positive cat, a cat who doesn't play well with others, and a cat who bites.I grew up in a nursing home my parents owned and my first paying job there was feeding dementia patients. I was also honored to have been able to take care of my bedridden mother-in-law and then my demented, bed-ridden father.When I worked at Sales Technologies I was transferred to the Philadelphia office and brought my beloved dogs Baxter and Trixie with me. I still owned my house in Atlanta and flew back every other weekend. I tried boarding my dogs but hated it. I had to leave work by noon Friday to drop them off at a kennel near the airport and then either return Sunday on a 7 am flight to get there before they closed at noon or taking a later flight and then coming home to a depressing rental house without my pets plus having to pay for another boarding day because I couldn't pick them up until Monday morning. One afternoon I started looking up pet sitting services in the phonebook and found one in my Main Line neighborhood of Westchester. I immediately signed up and it made my life SO easy. I left town on whatever flight I wanted, his company came in and took care of my dogs for as many days as needed and I could fly home any time I to my happy dogs. After a new CEO came in at Sales Technologies and laid off the entire marketing department (including me), I moved back to Atlanta and started Atlanta Pet Sitting to provide our clients here with the same level of service that I had experienced in Philadelphia. Atlanta Pet Sitting has grown to 30 sitters covering our 6-county metro area.
