The Deputy Director of Planning is a key leadership and management role in the department and in Baltimore County government. Together with the Director of Planning, I work closely with the department management team, County Council, and agency staff across multiple departments. As Deputy Director, I also represent Baltimore County and the department with a diverse range of external partners in other public, private, and community-based organizations. In this role, I also direct development, management, and implementation of programs, projects, and policies across a wide spectrum of subject matter areas including land use planning and policy, land preservation, commercial revitalization, as well as, community and urban planning. This position also plays a leadership role in shaping the department’s goals and in developing long term funding strategies.

Lead 9-12 planners who manage the County's comprehensive planning process. Provide support to each of community planning sectors by managing staff and workflow, facilitating project completion, adhering to legislative calendars, maintaining project files and records, producing cartographic materials, and ensuring timely development project review.The Community Planning Division is actively engaged in planning and urban design, institutional planning, neighborhood planning, zoning and development review, demographic and geographic analysis, commercial revitalization and graphic design. Planning Assisted the Historic Preservation Planner and the Public Information Officer in the preparation for meetings with community groups and commissions, such as the Community Beautification Commission.
