As the head of the Earth911 Platform, my responsibilities included leading product design and development of custom web and mobile applications used by tens of millions of people. My tenure with Earth911 began as I led comprehensive technical and product due diligence efforts with the newly formed venture. In addition to the management of application design and development I was also responsible for large scale critical operations projects including:* Data center migrations* Platform re-architecture* New application launches and existing application re-launches* Rebranding* Office relocationsThese projects included vendor selection and management, contract and lease negotiation, project planning, project management in addition to my technical responsibilities.My role provided me opportunities to directly address diverse, complicated, and ever changing issues in recycling, waste diversion, and waste reduction with both lifestyle and utility content distribution mechanisms taking full advantage of new media, mobile devices and the internet.These efforts were utilized directly by millions of consumers and scores of clients in retail, CPG, federal and local governments and municipalities, waste haulers, as well as their respective industry associations and non-profits.

Managed the entirety of the IT infrastructure for a K-8 school district. Working from shoestring budgets, creative problem solving was required to best utilize a diverse hardware inventory, and apply resources where utilization could be maximized. Offloaded a significant amount of internally managed infrastructure to the web. Redesigned the network infrastructure, increasing speed and connectivity while significantly reducing costs and maintenance overhead. Designed district website and implemented a suite of collaboration tools. Migrated away from expensive Microsoft licensing to open source tools including Edubuntu and Google Apps for Education.
