I mix and serve a wide variety of cocktails, consistently delivering high-quality drinks and excellent customer service. I hold some of the highest sales among a team of 10 bartenders, surpassing others by over $1,000 in nightly sales. I’m also part of the Joint Health and Safety Committee under WorkSafe BC, where I help ensure the safety of 30 staff members and guests. This position allowed me flexibility for travel following the completion of my studies.

I designed and completed a 6-week study to investigate the material composition of a novel bioplastic. I created 6 different chemical compositions and conducted iterative experiments to analyze the tensile property, water retention, and dimensional stability of each material post-production. I created a thorough technical documentation to showcase the findings.

I CAD-designed, fabricated, and programmed a motorized high-precision sub-millimeter resolution X-Y stage to automate the monitoring of ultrasound chips at microscopic scales. I programmed the stepping motors (Nema 17) to achieve micro-stepping with a resolution of approximately 10 micrometer using a DRV8825 motor driver. I created a thorough technical documentation to showcase the findings.

I tested high-performance materials for tensile strength and sweat-wicking properties, ensuring durability and comfort across various applications. This included conducting detailed experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to a material repository for streamlined access in future projects.

I developed a testing setup using fans, thermal imaging, and temperature sensors to assess airflow and temperature variations in ventilated athletic gear. I studied soft tissue vibration in sports attire using IMU sensors, which involved designing experiment protocols, coordinating with over 100 athlete test subjects, and collecting and analyzing data to optimize product construction. I collected, analyzed, and presented IMU, temperature, and pressure sensor data during human activities (e.g., running) using MATLAB to gain insights into athlete performance, and I analyzed gait and walking patterns using the Vicon motion capture system. Additionally, I designed, built, and validated a customizable mannequin by laser-cutting CAD-designed acrylic pieces to allow for the precise measurement of garment temperature without body heat interference.

I facilitated the learning of over 500 students by holding weekly office hours, designing quizzes/assignments, and marking exams in the following courses:- BMEG 210: Thermodynamics in Biomedical Engineering (instructed for 2 consecutive years)- BMEG 201: Technical Writing in Biomedical Engineering (instructed for 2 consecutive years)- MATH 104: Differential Calculus with Applications to Commerce

I designed a pneumatic actuator to study the human head's response to mechanical vibration at various frequencies in magnetic resonance elastography (MRE). I fabricated novel dry EEG electrodes and conducted P300 and N400 experiments, successfully submitting a human ethics application for approval. Utilizing IMU sensors in participants’ mouthguards, I gathered and analyzed acceleration data in MATLAB to explore skull vibration frequencies, revealing that even small sensors captured detailed movements.

I faciliated the transition of 400 incoming first-year students into university-level math at UBC, I held weekly office hours to solve complex math problems and answer student questions about life at UBC.
