• As a Financial controller I am responsible for managing the overall activities of the Finance Department of three Ma'aden Aluminium Companies by supervising a team of 17 employees which are spread over the following.
• Financial planning and analysis section (FP&A) – responsible for development of Strategy, Business plans and budgets;
• Financial accounting and reporting section (FAR)- responsible for financial accounting, financial statements preparations and related audits;
• Accounts receivable and payable section;
• Capex and Fixed assets section; and
• Tax, Zakat and statutory compliance section

• Key responsibilities include:Accounting, reporting & statutory responsibilities:
• Preparation of the statutory financial statements under IFRS;
• Preparation and implementation of financial policies and procedures;
• Review and coordination for annual zakat/income tax returns
• Review and coordinate the monthly withholding tax returns;
• Preparation of the monthly management reports, analyzing the profitability;

• Key responsibilities included:
• Analysis of the Financial statements based on Local GAAP and converting them to US GAAP financial statements for US statutory reporting;
• Planned, executed and completed external audits, developed & gained vast experience in external audits;
• Set internal control structure aiming to achieve process-compliance to ensure compliance with laws and regulations;
• Developing the overall audit strategy and preparing audit plan in the context of applicable financial reporting framework, industry-specific reporting requirements and reporting objectives of the audits;
• Supervised employees’ training and development that resulted in the introduction of capable and dependable work force; and

Responsibilities included audits of various companies relating to Oil and Gas, telecommunication, airline, pharmaceutical and other industries.
