Dr Attracta Lagan is a subject expert in the area of applied business ethics. Her focus is on behavioural science insights and their implications for the redesign of organisational cultures and conduct risk management. She has worked with public sector and private sector organisations in the wake of corruption inquiries as they rebuild their organisational cultures. She designs ethical leadership workshops for professional bodies and executive teams focusing on what best practice ethical systems, processes and practices look like in the workplace as a precursor to enabling social infrastructures to emerge. Her goal is to make it as easy as possible for employees to be aware of what ethical behaviour looks like and how to safeguard their ethical ambitions.She has spent over 15 years working alongside leaders conducting ethical surveys and ethical leadership programs in 14 countries in Asia and Australia. Her work involves the design and facilitation of large-scale values and ethics training initiatives and conduct risk reviews. Working alongside leaders, Attracta seeks to forewarn and skill organisational members in how to address the inevitable workplace ethical challenges they will face. This entails building a social infrastructure that embed risk management and enables governance to become a shared responsibility. Psychological safety via Giving Voice to Values training is part of this social infrastructure building.Attracta is the author of 2 books in business ethics and values, over 80 published articles and three industry white papers. She is an experienced industry keynote speaker and workshop facilitator and has presented at international conferences in Europe, North America and Asia. Attracta has acted as an expert adviser to key industry bodies including The Australian Minerals Council; The Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants; The Australian Compliance Institute; The Australian Company Secretaries; APESB, CEDA; AICD; ATO and Caux Roundtable. She specialises in the facilitation and embedding of codes of ethics and codes of conduct and workplace interventions designed to promote ethical skills development, organisational trust and respect.
