As President of TIV, Dr. Wad provides overall strategic guidance and direction to the company leading its growth in core global practice areas. He has held many leadership positions at several UN agencies and pioneered flagship programs such as the UN’s Advanced Technology Alert System, with luminaries such as Ernst von Weizsacker and Aklilu Lemma; and the Center for Interdisciplinary Study of Science and Technology at Northwestern University. Over his career, he has helped new ventures and academic institutes raise hundreds of millions of dollars, provided strategic advice to corporations in sustainability and technology areas, and led policy research on issues in new business development in emerging markets. Dr. Wad’s career highlights include: Faculty at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University; the Institute of Design at Illinois Institute of Technology(IIT) Chicago; the Autonomous University of Yucatan, Mexico; Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), Bombay; and the Indian Institute of Management(IIM),Bangalore; and CENTRIM, University of Brighton. He was a Visiting Fellow at Institute of Development Studies (IDS) and SPRU, University of Sussex; and an advisor to the Mexican Association for Incubators and Technology Parks (AMIEPAT). Dr. Wad has served as director in several private companies (e.g. Praj Industries, Tata, Onward technologies). He has been involved in starting or building such ventures in various sectors, and has founded and grown numerous start-ups. His experience also includes advising early stage companies in technology strategy, management, marketing, and strategic alliance formation, and raising financing. He has commercialized and scaled numerous innovations that have transformed local economies through sustainable development and created jobs.
