We discovered that our First African American Executive Director, Marjorie Hall Ellis, moved on to serve as the Director of the Division of Children and Family Services. She was the leader responsible for encouraging that services become decentralized from downtown offices and into the neighborhoods served! Some 40 years later she would be proud of us, as we lead the work of our Neighborhood Supportive Services and our seasoned RISE Collaborative!
