In addition to my role as a grant reviewer for the 2024 Accelerator Awards, I served as a contributor to the Lewis Prize for Music's, "Producing Well-Being Report," which examines the relationship between Creative Youth Development and Workforce Development. • The People's Music School is the only completely tuition-free music school in Chicago, and the oldest in the United States. I worked there for nearly ten years, rising through the ranks from Assistant to Director.
• Collaborated with Board of Directors in strategic planning and development including rebranding, an overhaul of organizational mission, vision, and values and an accelerated five-year growth plan
• Cultivated new partnerships with Chicago Public Schools and Park District and designed/directed signature in-school and after-school programs that increased the number of students served by 300% (from 200 to 800.
• Hired, supervised and assessed 30+ professional teaching artists who provided high quality instruction to 700+ students through ensemble, one-on-one and classroom instruction
• Innovated a financial redistribution initiative that maximized program strengths and allowed for the strategic growth of community engagement endeavors

• I joined the Peace Corps because of its tremendous opportunity for experiencing significant cultural exchange, and during my two transformative years with the corps, I:
• Implemented an initiative to educate elementary school students about HIV/AIDS through creative theatre arts that has been recognized as a model to educate elementary school students worldwide.
• Conducted ethnomusicology research focusing on, "Monyanyako," the original and completely collaborative musical compositions of Basotho school children.
• Instructed English Literature, Grammar, Composition, HIV/AIDS Education and Life Skills to over 200 students with varying age and ability levels over a two year period.
• Organized quarterly district HIV/AIDS meetings and attended national seminars by the Center for Disease Control, The United Nations, and Baylor College of Medicine.

After graduating from Northwestern University, I joined the team at SACC, an organization that seeks to assist African immigrant youth in all aspects of community building and empowerment by providing a safe recreational and educational space. There, I designed and directed an after-school music education program for sixty elementary and middle school age.
