Maintain assigned vessel in top working condition. Monitor critical main propulsion and power generation systems for proper operation. Conduct scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance checks and utilize FleetChek fleet management system to issue reports and work orders for any issues. Maintain a safe working environment throughout vessel utilizing company safety directives such as proper Lock-out/Tag-out and safe fueling procedures as required.Utilize skills as a seasoned Able-Seaman deckhand to properly handle vessel to vessel headlines and deck lines as needed by order of the Captain/Mate on duty. Under direction of the vessel captain, conduct and participate in all required emergency drills IAW USCG and Moran Towing Corp. policies.

In my previous experience with Signet Maritime Corporation, I worked as a deckhand on harbor tugs in support of operations for the Port of Pascagoula. I conducted day to day duties regarding vessel maintenance and housekeeping. I assisted the captains and engineers when and where directed. On certain vessels, it was required that I served as an engineer conducting regular engine room checks, lube-oil-filter changes when required, and general or emergency maintenance when possible. I updated engineroom logs and corralated heavy maintenance schedules with the vessel's captain and port engineer. I participated in general emergency, man overboard, and fire drills in accordance with USCG laws & regulations and International Maritime Organization's STCW-95 requirements in both deck and engineering departments.
