STORYTELLERI’m a natural-born storyteller with a serious love for words, and I have a knack for not only making emotional connections, but also connecting the dots and finding the story. Somehow my love of popular fiction landed me in marketing, where over the past 18+ years I’ve done a little bit of everything. Content marketing and communications, however, are my jam. Which makes sense, with the whole storytelling thing and all. Whether it's marketing or fiction, I love using words to inspire, educate, and entertain.🧐Favorite question: “Why?”🤓2nd favorite question: “How?”DOT CONNECTOREvery marketer likes to say they think “outside of the box;” I’m going to be honest: I’m not even sure where the box is. My natural curiosity, willingness to learn, and previous experiences enable me to connect dots and see possibilities—and potential roadblocks—in ways that most others can’t. When you combine my storytelling and dot connecting abilities, I have a “super power” that allows me to:🔎Find the story🗣️Capture unique voices💡Identify opportunities✨Anticipate outcomesPASSIONATE ADVOCATEWhether it’s through advocating for Cisco Partners and helping them tell their stories or advocating for Cisco’s disabled and neurodivergent community as the Global Co-Lead for the Connected Disability Action Network employee resource group, I’m a passionate advocate for the things I care about. And I use my skills in content management, thought leadership, and data storytelling to champion Cisco Partners and employees. I drive inclusivity initiatives, shape policies, and serve as an ambassador both within Cisco and in external forums to foster a culture of diversity and accessibility.💜Fundamental belief: There is no true DEI without including disability and accessibility.LIFELONG LEARNERI’m super curious and love learning new things, which means I have an interesting mix of skills, such as:Storytelling | Writing | Executive Thought Leadership | Web Accessibility | Video Editing & Production | Graphic Design | Editing | Adobe Creative Cloud | HTML | WordPress | iMovie | Trello | Canva | AirTable | Notion | Marketing Automation | Event Planning | Vendor Management | Content Strategy | Budget Management | People Leadership | Content Marketing | Branding | Advocacy | Communications | Interviewing | Social Media | Community Management | Messaging | Adaptability | Data Storytelling | SEO🤩I’m also really good at finding the perfect meme or gif

Aubrey GrossAubrey Gross Jan 2008 - PresentIndependent author of romantic comedy and women's fiction with a humorous tone. Also wrote under a pen name for Loose Id, and was the runner-up in the 2008 March Madness contest. Author of the Devils Ranch Series, including Between the Seams, the first book in the series and an Amazon Kindle best seller in sports romance and romantic comedy. Other Devils Ranch titles include: Baseball and Other Lessons, Hair Trigger Heart, and Dallas' Most Eligible; and the standalone Big Girls Need Love Too (which was also my SHU WPF thesis novel).Notable achievement: Big Girls Need Love Too received a Gold Star Book Designer award for the month of September, 2015. Cover designed by me.How being an indie writer ties in to my marketing career:As an indie writer, I'm responsible for the entire process, from writing the book to publishing to marketing. I write. I reach out to beta readers. I revise. I edit. I design the cover and format the interior for multiple platforms utilizing multiple programs (Scrivener, Word, InDesign, Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator). I manage a marketing budget, and utilize Facebook ads and paid advertising as necessary. I design my own ads and write my own ad copy, and perform A/B testing on Facebook ads, tweaking ad copy, images, and targeting as necessary in order to increase the relevancy score and decrease the cost per click. I utilize email marketing (my email list, while small, has an incredibly high open rate and click through rate, which I attribute to my 9+ years of experience in email marketing), social media, blogging, my website, and SEO best practices in order to reach my audience and potential readers (meaning: customers). I analyze sales and marketing data. I research and analyze the market. In other words: I'm an entrepreneur. In October of 2019 I created Aubrey Gross Marketing primarily as a portfolio website, and in the summer of 2024 I decided to slightly redesign and pivot towards also offering fractional & freelance services.
