Senior Graduate & Adult Admissions CounselorConcordia University Irvine Jun 2014 - Aug 2016Irvine, Ca, UsThis was a brand new position. In this position my goal was to assist students in the admissions process for their desired graduate program. I worked with all graduate and adult programs, but I was mainly responsible for the admissions process for 4 specific programs. On the graduate side, I worked closely with the MBA program. For the online bachelor's degree programs I worked with General Education, Healthcare Management, and Organizational Psychology. I did a little recruiting in this position, but most of my time was spent in customer service, collecting documents, maintaining files, doing transcript evaluations, working with international students and conducting interviews. I used CRMs Hobson's Connect and Salesforce Target X to manage the admissions process and communication flows for my potential students. My drive towards efficiency led me to partner with our Data Manager and CRM Team as we transitioned CRM platforms. On this team I represented the viewpoint of the admissions counselor and partnered to create processes and reports that would help our department have the data and processes needed to maximize their time.I also ran a student call center for the Graduate and Adult Admissions Office. I interviewed and hired 3 student tele-counselors who report to me. As their supervisor I was responsible for providing call lists and scripts, daily tasks, approving time sheets, and making the student tele-counselor position a positive professional development experience! This position also allowed me to gain experience as a Social Media Manager for my programs. I managed social media outlets such as Hootsuite, Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin. Community Life Graduate Assistant: Rec SportsCalifornia Baptist University Jul 2012 - May 2014Riverside, Ca, UsAs one of two Rec Sports assistants I gained a lot of experience working with a partner. Previously, there had only been one Rec Sports Graduate Assistant. The office wanted to strengthen the influence of women in intramural sports, so I became the "Rec Sports Girl". My position occasionally worked with the Outdoor Adventure Team, where I was known as "Mother Adventure."I used the word assisted often in my descriptions for this job because our office worked so tightly as a team, it wouldn't be right to claim it as mine. Along with the Community Life Staff (also known as the most creative people I have ever worked with) I assisted in planning of our student staff training. We planned things such as a scavenger hunt across Southern California, camping trips, gourmet dinners made by our staff, and other team bonding activities. As an office, our mission on campus was to plan all major events and activities on campus. The Rec Sports team planned various recreational sports tournaments such as ultimate frisbee, dodgeball, softball, and my personal favorite, quidditch. We also planned our championship games from our regular leagues as major events on campus. Our Fortuna Bowl (flag football championship) brings a crowd of about 3,500 fans on campus, has a field sponsor, and includes a fireworks show. Our intramural soccer championship (Lancer Cup) brings a crowd closer to 2,000 people and includes an international food truck festival.I assisted in the day to day of recreational sports leagues management. This included set up and tare down, injury response, and hiring and training of referees. In preparation for each upcoming season we help a captain and referee meeting which my Rec Sports team was responsible for executing. I personally was also responsible for scheduling all staff and referees for the leagues.Technology Used: IM Leagues, Microsoft Office Suite -

Campus Life Graduate AssistantCalifornia Baptist University Jul 2011 - May 2012Riverside, Ca, UsTechnology Used: Microsoft Office Suite, Blackboard, Adobe PhotoshopAs a Campus Life Graduate Assistant, I got my first taste of a higher education staff position. I was the first person to work this position in three years. I saw the need my supervisor had for help, and I strongly requested that he bring back this position so I could help. The Graduate Assistants on campus could also be defined as temporary part time staff members. I assisted my supervisor in his responsibilities for all new student programming. This included the New Student Orientation and a First Year College Skills class (FOCUS). My supervisor and I hired 4 coordinators who assisted us in hiring 98 new student leaders. In this position, I was training those who trained the teachers. Together, with an orientation committee, we planned and executed a week-long orientation for 1,400 new students. Unfortunately, my supervisor had a personal loss in the family just before orientation, which left me solely responsible for my 102 student leaders for the week. I worked as hard as possible to keep things running smoothly in his absence and to reprieve his worries of being absent.I was responsible to prepare schedules for New Student Orientation, Freshman Orientation Coordinator training, and Freshman Orientation leader training. I also assisted in leading the weekly training of our FOCUS Leaders who taught our first year experience course. -
Freshman Orientation CoordinatorCalifornia Baptist University Dec 2009 - Dec 2010Riverside, Ca, UsTechnology Used: Microsoft Office Suite, BlackboardIn this position I worked under the Assistant Dean of Students and slightly above the orientation leaders. There were four total coordinators who all shared this position. I assisted in hiring, training, and managing of 90 Freshman Orientation Leaders. This position required a deeper understanding of Strengthsfinder, as I had to assist the student leaders in teaching their session. I graded FOCUS (Freshman Orientation and Christian University Success) Class Assignments. I also spent some weekly hours in the Campus Life Office doing reception and clerical duties. -
Freshman Orientation LeaderCalifornia Baptist University Mar 2008 - Dec 2009Riverside, Ca, UsIn this position I was responsible for class of 20 to 30 new students throughout New Student Orientation. I also taught a college life skills and university integration course to these same students. Our class topics included Strengthfinder Themes and how they integrate into school and life, determining student learning styles, how to handle finances, friends, and other college life skills. We took time to personally care for students in their transition into college and to make the transition as FUN as possible! -
