I'm Aubrie Patching and I'm a senior at Timpview High school. I've played soccer since I was a kid, and I've played lacrosse since I was a freshman. I currently work at Waffle Love, and I am an AP Scholar. I love staying active, I'm always trying to work toward success.Education has been a super cool journey for me especially since I'm just finishing up high school this year. It's super exciting to see that all the hard work I've put into my schoolwork and my education actually has a purpose and that I'll be able to use my knowledge once I'm on my own. I've taken a lot of hard classes and I'm finally able to see that all of the hard work I put into my education will pay off. I've taken a lot of classes to prepare me for the medical field and I'm really wanting to work in medicine so I can help people who need help.I've learned through my work experiences to always try my best and optimize my skills so I can get the job done as quickly and as neatly as possible. I've learned how to delegate and be a leader so that the team can function smoothly and efficiently. I've worked in the food industry at Waffle Love for almost a year and it's been really fun to have a job and to work there.In sports, I haven't always been on a team that I've loved, and I haven't always been on a winning team either, but I did learn lots of social skills that will be valuable for the rest of my life. I've been blessed to learn these at a young age so I can be even more ready for the life ahead of me. I've learned forgiveness, kindness, and teamwork, as well as more difficult lessons. I've learned how to confront people in ways that are open to different solutions, and in ways that are the least dramatic. I was able to be the captain of my lacrosse team this past year and help lead a team of brand-new players by teaching them how to play and how to work together. I'm also the goalie on my soccer team and through that experience, I've been able to learn how to give direct commands to my teammates without offending them. I've also learned how to act under pressure and it has taught me to keep a level head. I believe the biggest lesson I've learned from sports is how to talk with people and get along with those with whom I wouldn't choose to be around, and how to see the best sides of everyone.All of these skills have led me to build relationships with those around me and help me to interact with them. Whether it's my teachers, my friends, or my colleagues, I've learned to keep judgments to myself and to treat everyone with respect and kindness.
