Served as the lead budget officer supporting the III Corps Staff Sections, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 89th Military Police Brigade, and five specialty units (located across five installations). Responsible for leading, planning, developing, and executing an excess of $20M in funding while utilizing an internet based general funds enterprise business system (GFEBS). Processed government purchase card applications and communicated information to executive level leaders. Provided full-scale status reports daily and the overall direction and guidance on budgetary functions within assigned areas. Performed analytical, technical, and advisory functions related to all aspects of the budget process. Provided technical advice and guidance related to the performance of assigned budgetary functions and program to all grades and ranks. Responsible for the preparation and reviewing of budget justification statements, consolidated budget estimates, analyzed costs, and generated funds status reports. Review annual appropriation(s) budget circulars, projected budget estimates, and develop consolidated budget forecasts. Monitor yearend closes to ensure proper and full use of provided funding with no anti-deficiency violations. Closed out over $500K in prior year funds ranging from expiring year to prior year.

Second in Command within G8 section of the 20th Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High Yield Explosive (CBRNE), overseeing an excess of $250M. Responsibilities included exercise analyst, identifying and funding emerging requirements for multi-echelon training events. Lead Planner required to interface with the staff for operational readiness of a geographically disbursed division level command consisting of more than 5000 Soldiers and Civilians across 19 installations. Assisted with the defense travel systems (DTS), reviewing authorizations and vouchers for required documentation. Created policies, procedures, and operational orders that were necessary, but previously not in place. Performed analytical, technical and advisory functions related to all aspects of the budget process. Monitored yearend closing to ensure proper and full use of provided funding with no anti-deficiency violations.

Served as a Budget Officer for the 3ID Division Comptroller (Home station and Deployed). During home station operations, oversaw and managed the execution of over $176M in operation funds, supporting over 30,000 Soldiers assigned to 4 Modular Brigade Combat Teams, a Combat Aviation Bridge, a Sustainment Brigade, and various separated units across Fort Steward, Hunter Army Airfield, and Kelly Hill. Directly responsible for contributing to the process of planning, programming, budgeting, and execution the operation budget. Assisted the brigade Supply Representatives (S4s) in all areas of supplies, services, and service support. Responsible for coordinating the funding of the Division’s operational requirements with other Division Staff elements, the numerous garrison directorates, contracting, and the supported units. During deployment served as the Special Programs Chief, responsible for overseeing the daily operation within the Special Programs Officer and the budget execution of 4 different funding allocations in excess of $230M: Commanders’ Emergency Response Program (CERP), the Iraqi-Commanders’ Emergency Response Program (I-CERP), the Iraqi Security Forces Funds (ISFF), and CENTCOM Rewards Funds.

Brigade Assistant S4 for the 4th Brigade Combat Team (BCT), 3d Infantry Division. Served as an assistant staff officer for the Brigade Commander. Responsible for supply management, maintaining accountability, and served as the Brigade point of contact for housing and billeting of the 4th BCT Soldiers. Approved purchases made by three government purchase card holders, oversaw six Battalion purchase card holders and their approving authorities. Assisted and oversaw the purchase request process, managing over $14M in operation funds for the Brigade. Wrote fragment orders regarding logistical requirements and support. Supervised three Warrant Officers, five non-commissioned officers, three enlisted, and two civilians. As the Rear Detachment Brigade S4 for the 4th Brigade Combat Team (BCT), 3d Infantry Division. Served as a principle staff officer for the Brigade Commander, overseeing supply management, maintaining accountability, building maintenance and usage, housing and billeting for all 4th BCT Soldiers, and coordinating the usage and maintenance of six Battalion motor pools. Responsible for manifesting all deployment flights, deploying roughly 5,000 Soldiers in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom V.
