I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in May 2021 where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. I then began my M.Ed. in Literacy with a Reading Specialist Certification in June 2021 and graduated in August 2022. Literacy has always been a passion of mine, so I'm thrilled to be able to provide my students with the best Literacy instruction they can receive. I currently have been working as a Kindergarten Teacher at Forest Hills Elementary School as a year-long substitute in my own classroom. I accepted this position in August 2022. I have a wonderful class of 18 students. This experience has allowed me to make a difference in my own community and reflect on my craft as an educator to ensure I am providing top-tier education. In May 2022, I completed a Reading Specialist internship at Ferndale Area Elementary School. I worked with small groups in K-6. I pride myself in planning engaging lesson plans that are always aligned with Pennsylvania Core and/or Academic Standards as well as the most recent data from formal and informal assessments. I was previously employed at a Child Care/Daycare in my hometown as well as a substitute teacher in local schools in my area. I have years of experience working with children, whether that be through babysitting, coaching cheerleading, fieldwork, or my part-time jobs. I am always sure to keep my clearances up to date, as well as my professional development often. I am currently certified in Suicide Prevention as of February 2021.
