Eric Auchard worked as a technology reporter, columnist and editor at Reuters for twenty-five years, from 1993 to 2018. After leaving Reuters, he worked as a freelance tech journalist, editor and copy writer, based in London. He now works as an investment researcher.From 2014 to 2018, he was chief technology correspondent for Reuters in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, covering technology stories across the region, from major names to the latest start-ups, as well as the impact of global technology trends on the zone. A prime focus was on cyber security and political influence operations.From 2010 to 2014, Eric led a push within Reuters to develop data-driven projects, web-based collaboration tools and other software to help in reporting, editing or managing the flow of news. In the 2000s, Eric worked as Reuters global technology correspondent coordinating coverage around the world and reporting major technology news and interviewing many of the biggest figures in the tech world in 33 countries.Over the last 25 years, he's been based in San Francisco, Washington D.C., New York, London, Vienna, Frankfurt and is now back living and working in London. Eric grew up in the sleepy suburbs of what the world now knows as Silicon Valley.
