Spring 2023 semester abroad as a full-time student in Seville, Spain, and was completely immersed in the Spanish culture by living with a soley Spanish speaking host family. I tutored a Spanish family where I spoke with two kids in English and helped with homework twice weekly. Additionally, I aided professors at a local elementary school as an English conversation assistant. I was able to work in the classroom during English class to provide an opportunity for real-life conversation practice with an English native for 40+ volunteer hours. Furthermore, I was a part of the Intercambios program at my university where I was paired with two different Spanish students from my university to strengthen our English to Spanish & Spanish to English conversation and translation skills. I had to opportunity to be involved with Erasmus and travel throughout Spain and other parts of Europe on the weekends to expand my cultural knowledge.
