CurrentI direct daily operations of the Division to ensure a transparent, impartial, and accurate election system in one of the largest election operations in the U.S., with approximately 1.5 million registered voters in 2,069 precincts. My daily world includes managing 80+ staff to reach recruitment and training goals of 14K seasonal poll workers and 2K volunteer deputy registrars in Chicago. Career Highlights:- Getting to propose and lead the development of a new online recruiting, application, training, LMS, scheduling, and communication system for poll workers (the backbone of the voting process in America) and the elected officials who appoint them, resulting in an efficient way to equip tech-savvy election workers. - Successfully transitioning the voter check-in process from completely paper-based to electronic-based (yes! embrace tech!)- Reducing the cost of running multiple training locations by 68% by combining them into one higher capacity building. - Safeguarding Section 203 of the Voting Rights Act to ensure Spanish, Chinese and Hindi-speakers have access to bilingual ballots and language assistance on Election Day and work with the Department of Justice regarding compliance, including new outreach program for Hindi speakers when language was added by Dept. of Justice.- Overseeing the full implementation of additional languages including Polish, Korean, Tagalog, and partial implementation of Urdu, Gujarati, and Arabic. - Taking the lead on engaging young people in administration of elections, training and deploying 4K high school and college students to serve as Judges of Election and Polling Place Administrators. - Planning and executing the Association of Election Commission Officials of Illinois (AECOI) 2017 Spring Conference as well as serve as 2nd Vice President to the Association.
