Work as a staff physical therapist in cardiovascular, surgical, neurologic, oncologic, transplant, and pulmonary patient populations. Oriented multiple staff members to my primary floor and assisted in creation of mobility and orientation program on pulmonary step-down unit and weekly huddle with ALDS. Created and delivered in-service on the Zephyr Valve procedure in conjunction with updating the orientation process for my primary floor. Active member of the EPIC super user committee to onboard students and new hires to the documentation system, as well as the Quality Improvement Committee, co-facilitating the sub-committee with focus on understanding what committees do, improving overall committee involvement, and the functioning of the committees. Created a continuous quality improvement (CQI) project and standard of practice (SOP) for open and closed-circuit deep suctioning, as well as the competency for physical and occupational therapists to be able to safely perform this task within VUMC. Function as a super user for deep suctioning to deem others competent in this practice. Attend monthly journal clubs as well as lead one on balance in older adults with mild cognitive impairment. Developed and led a multi-session continuing education in-service and lab for assessment and intervention of vestibular disorders. Created a CQI that objectively demonstrated the importance of therapy intervention in improved patient outcomes and appropriate and timely discharge.
