Operate precision cutting machines, such as lathes, grinders, and milling machines, to produce a wide variety of metal and plastic parts and items. Duties include (but not limited to): - Ensure that correct material is used, tools and/or fixtures are free from defects. - Review and perform layout for assigned work, as required. - Check machine set-up and/or parts completed by previous operator to determine job progress. - Ensure safe working conditions. - Attach machine accessories, tools, fixtures (e.g., coolant lines, air nozzles, suction devises) shop aides and gears, using dial indicators, edge finders, wrenches, bolts, and clamps. - Select and check cutting tools per set up sheet, ensure cutters are the correct type, length, diameter, radius and are in good condition. - Load and unload cutters. - Run CNC programs and/or manual machines to machine rough and precision cut parts following NC or appropriate documents. - Perform minor editing of CNC programs. - Remove all sharp edges from part with a de-burring tool and/or file. - Prep and pack products for delivery. - Manage multiple projects at a time.
